Engineer vs. Manager
A man flying in a hot air balloon realizes he is lost. He reduces his altitude and spots a man in a field down below. He lowers the balloon further and shouts, "Excuse me, can you tell me where I am?"
The man below says, "Yes, you're in a hot air balloon, about 30 feet above this field."
"You must be an engineer," says the balloonist.
"I am. How did you know?"
"Everything you told me is technically correct, but it's of no use to anyone."
The man below says, "You must be in management."
"I am. But how did you know?"
"You don't know where you are, or where you're going, but you expect me to be able to help U??!!

In the beginning was the plan, And then came the assumptions. And the plan was without substance. And darkness was upon the face of the workers. And they spoke among themselves, saying, "It is a crock of shit, and it stinketh." And the workers went unto the supervisors and said, "It is a pile of dung, and none may abide the odour thereof." And the supervisors went unto their managers, saying, "It is a container of excrement, and is very strong, such that none may abide by it." And the managers went unto their directors, saying, "It is a vessel of fertilizer, and none may abide its strength." And the directors went unto the vice presidents, saying unto them, "It promotes growth and it is very powerful." And the vice presidents went unto the president, saying to him, "This new plan will actively promote the growth and vigour of the company, with powerful effects." And the president looked upon the plan, and saw it was good. And the plan became policy.
