"Numero Uno" Nooyi
FORTUNEmagazine releases its 2006 WOMEN POWER list i.e. 50 most powerful women in business (Ofcourse, it’s an annual ranking of only America’s leading businesswomen). The best thing is that Ms.Indra Nooyi (CEO of Pepsi w.e.f. Oct 01st) has already been ranked numero-uno!
I wish Fortune Magazine consider bringing out ranking list of women in global ranking rather than concentrating only on USA. Already USA men and women consider they have two hornes on their head(though the fact remains what USA today is mainly because of India and Indians and certain other nations) This will be encouraging and competetive for women around the world.
Fortune, Magazine give opportunities to all women of the world to bring out and prsent their calibre and talents and not mereley women of USA.
Anita Roddick of The Body Shop would get my vote as number one of my but as JK says this is an American list. It's a shame that the USA is so insular with these rankings - it would be good to extend the list to the world outside their borders.
Dear Mr. Trevor, Thank you very much for your outright support and outlook for the outrageous act and attitude of Fortune Magazine. I do not know what they have in mind and think of women of intellegence, wisdom and knowledge of ROW. I indeed have better choice to vote for, if it is called for globally
May, good sense prevail upon Editor and Publisher of Fortune Magazine atleast from now on.
As a Senior Finance Manager for a diversified retailing group based in Hong Kong, I am responsible for leading the finance function which includes policy making, decision taking, crafting a financing strategy to be in line with the business strategy and ensuring regulatory compliance to unlock shareholder value & wealth consistently. My prior professional experience includes a two-year stint with Polaris Software Labs Limited, India where I worked as a Senior Business Analyst in the Corporate Internet Banking Project and was instrumental in developing the functional specifications for the ‘Intellect’ suite of products, and with PricewaterhouseCoopers, India for nearly 3 years as an Associate Consultant leading a team of budding CAs in executing various assignments in the areas of Risk Management & Consulting for several multinationals and Indian corporates. I am a visiting faculty of Finance at Days’ Inn Learning Centre, India and regularly scribe articles for various professional journals and have presented papers on Corporate Governance & Ethical Conduct.
